Lambert’s agenda prioritizes public safety, accessible housing and safe spaces for youth

While on my way home on Thursday (7/11/24), my mother and I went to check on a dear friend and citizen, who recently lost a loved one. My mother has issues walking long distances and has obtained a handicap placard for her car. I temporarily pulled in front of the house, which has a bicycle lane. My intention was to quickly check on this family friend, and then move to the car. While there, I was challenged by a man, who was very angry. We had an intense conversation. Upon further reflection, I fully regret how this interaction of followed and I accept full responsibility for parking in the bike lane. I recognize the importance of pedestrian, vehicle and bike safety, and have been and will continue to be a supporter for this issue in our city. To further promote bike lane awareness/safety, and to show my continued commitment towards safe cycling, I'm making a personal $50 donation to the Richmond Cycling Corps, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to help young cyclists.
